Welcome to Raise Your Voice Hebburn

Welcome to Raise Your Voice Hebburn

Raise Your Voice Hebburn is all about connection, confidence, and community. We’re a friendly bunch of adults who love to sing, laugh, and show up for each other — whether we’re learning new harmonies or celebrating the tiny wins that happen every week.

Our rehearsals are a mix of focus and fun: plenty of graft, plenty of giggles, and always a sense of belonging. You don’t need experience or music‑reading skills — just a willingness to give it a go.

What you’ll find here is a supportive space where every voice matters and every person is welcomed exactly as they are. We cheer each other on, we grow together, and we create moments that feel genuinely special.

If you’re curious, come along and see what we’re about. You might surprise yourself — and you’ll definitely leave smiling.

Raise Your Voice Hebburn was born from resilience, friendship, and a shared love of singing. When our former choir disbanded in April 2025, around 30 singers chose not to let the music fade. Instead, we created something new — something bold, inclusive, and full of heart.

Becky Smith, once a singer in the group, stepped up as Music Director and has led the choir from strength to strength. Her energy, vision, and commitment to community have shaped who we are today.

Since forming, we’ve packed a lot in. We’ve recorded a Christmas single with its own music video, appeared on BBC Radio Newcastle and BBC Look North, and performed at iconic local venues and events including Beamish, Newcastle Cathedral, Jarrow Focus, Springwell Village’s 1940s celebrations, and Hebburn Pride. We've even been invited to sing with a touring West-End musical at the Sunderland Empire!

We’re proud of our roots, proud of our sound, and proud of the community we’ve built — one rehearsal, one performance, and one big harmony at a time.
